Stone & Brick Consolidation, using heritage lime and earth pigments.

The decay of stone and brick masonry is a serious problem for many period properties, as this leads to the physical loss of the outer protective fabric surface, and original appearance. Incorrect repairs using hard cement mortars restricts the ability of the external fabric to release moisture, which over time will cause lateral damp penetration and internal dampness. With many years of experience in the use of natural earth pigments sourced from around the world, we are able to restore masonry back to its original appearance, including handmade Tudor bricks, tracery windows and stone and clunch (chalk) masonry. Where required, stainless steel pins and structural bracing can be added within the repairs. Carrying consolidation repairs will retain the external protection period properties require, and return your property back to its former glory . "We were delighted with Jamie's repairs to our damaged bricks. We've got some interesting brickwork on our home, with different colours and some angled pieces as well. Many of them had suffered some kind of damage or other over the years, whether it was through cracking, the face of the brick blowing and crumbling, or being drilled into for wall fixings. All in all, there was a lot to be done, with different shades and shapes to blend in. Jamie always explained what he was doing to restore them and was happy to answer any questions along the way. His approach seeks to take good care of the building, so makes use of the appropriate materials and techniques for the kind of brick or pointing in the wall. He obtains well-matched replacement bricks where needed, and mixes off a palette of colours that make it hard to spot where the pigments have been applied, as well as using the correct base for the colour and mortar so that it will dry out and match well. We would recommend Wight Heritage Preservation if you have any brickwork in poor condition that you would like to see looking good and functioning as it should once more."

"Just a note to thank you and the team at Wight Heritage Preservation for a first class job on our 300 year old Brewhouse building. The stonework was badly eroded in many places and the pointing due for renewal, it is now transformed and looking better than ever. Also a big thank you for keeping the working area so clean and tidy during the restoration and for taking care with our plants. We would definitely recommend you to anyone needing similar work to a historic building."
